DBS role for former Hang Seng investment banker

A former senior investment advisor from Hang Seng’s private banking arm has joined DBS Private Bank after more than three years with the local Hong Kong lender.

Clement Lai joins DBS Private Bank as what is believed to be a vice president and fund specialist.

When contacted, a spokesperson for the bank confirmed that Lai joined but was unable to comment on his title or role.

Previously, Lai had also worked with Canadian lender BMO for five years, servicing its private clients in Asia.

According to this publication’s most recent AUM League Table, DBS Private Bank had US$73.2 billion as the of 2014, making it as the eight largest private bank in the region by the metric.
