New Australia CEO at Credit Suisse

After 25 years with Credit Suisse including his most recent role as its Australia CEO, Rob Stewart will step down, making way for an in-house replacement.

He will be replaced by John Knox effective May1, reporting to Asia Pacific CEO, Helman Sitohang according to the bank. Knox will also become the sole head of investment banking in the region.

Knox has worked for Credit Suisse since 1995, including in his most recent appointment as its Australia co-head of investment banking.

In his new role, Know will drive Credit Suisse’s businesses in Australia across private banking, wealth management and investment banking.

Credit Suisse Private Banking had assets under management of US$154 billion in Asia at end-2014, according to this publication’s AUM league table.
