Julius Baer Keeps Hiring in Asia

Julius Baer has continued its impressive hiring record for 2016 with the appointment of a new chief investment officer, Asia, with simultaneous responsibility as head investment management Asia.

Julius Baer has established a new chief investment officer (CIO) function in Asia. This new CIO function will be held by Bhaskar Laxminarayan with immediate effect. Based in Singapore, he will also head the Asia Investment Management division, the bank said ina statement on Thursday.

Laxminarayan has over 23 years of experience in multi-asset investing in Asia. He joins from Pictet Wealth Management where he was CIO as of 2007, responsible for the investment strategy in Asia. Prior to this, he had held several roles in various financial institutions in Singapore such as CIO at Shinsei Asset Management and Portfolio Manager at Alliance Bernstein.

New Head of Portfolio Management International

Christoph Landolt will become head portfolio management international of Julius Baer as of 1 September 2016. In his new role, Landolt will be responsible for all international locations, excluding Asia, within the division Global Discretionary Solutions.

Landolt joined Julius Baer in 2015 as head global portfolio management business development. He has wide experience in the financial and other industries in various senior management positions. He previously worked for RMF Investment Management/Man Investments in Switzerland and London for more than ten years, holding different senior roles.
