BNP Paribas Investment Partners (BPIP) has appointed Christian Bucaro, head of private wealth for BNP Paribas Investment Partners, Asia Pacific (APAC), as chief executive officer for Singapore, effective September 2.

Mr. Bucaro takes over the role from Puay-Lit Tan, who has taken time off to pursue his personal interests.

In his new position, Mr. Bucaro reports jointly to Ligia Torres, head of APAC and Tino Moorrees, head of Asia sales. In addition to continuing to expand and consolidate BPIP’s offerings in the region’s private-banking clients, particularly in the multi-asset solutions space, Mr. Bucaro is now also responsible for overseeing Singapore’s business interests, and driving local strategy across all client groups.

Joining BPIP in Italy in 2005, Mr. Bucaro moved to the company’s London office in 2008 where he held several senior positions such as head of UK offshore business development and deputy head of global distributor relationships. He joined the Singapore office in 2012 as team head distribution sales for Southeast Asia and was appointed head of private wealth, APAC in January 2014, with oversight of the distribution business in Hong Kong, Singapore and Southeast Asia.
