Standard Chartered Names New Hong Kong Chief Exec

Emerging markets and Asia focused Standard Chartered Bank has named a new CEO for Hong Kong, the bank has also reshuffled a number of other roles.

Mary Huen has been appointed Chief Executive Officer for Hong Kong at Standard Chartered Bank. She was previously Head of Retail Banking for Greater China and North Asia. Huen succeeds May Tan who will retire soon after being active in the Hong Kong finance industry for over 30 years.

Huen has been Regional Head of Retail Banking for Greater China and North Asia since 2015, leading the personal finance business in the region.

Hong Kong Reshuffle

The Head of Retail Banking for Greater China and North Asia role will now be taken on by Samir Subberwal, and Vicky Kong will succeed Subberwal as Head of Retail Banking for Hong Kong.

Completing the reshuffle John Tan will become Regional Head of Financial Markets for Greater China and North Asia as well as Head of Financial Markets for Hong Kong.

All appointments will take effect from March 1 and all of the senior managers will be based in Hong Kong.
