Lombard Odier Boosts Southeast Asia Team

Geneva headquartered Lombard Odier has boosted its ASEAN coverage with the recruitment of an additional Senior Relationship Manager. The new hire will report directly to the Singapore CEO.

In a statement to finews.asia a bank spokesperson confirmed that Sandy Lim has joined Lombard Odier Singapore as a Senior Relationship Manager (RM) focusing on the Southeast Asian market. He will hold the title of Executive Director at Lombard Odier Singapore and will report directly to Vincent Magnenat, CEO Singapore and Head of Private Banking, Asia.

Swiss private banking group Julius Baer is stepping up hiring in Singapore and Hong Kong as it sees Asia overtaking Europe as the group’s biggest revenue-generating region. Julius Baer CEO Boris Collardi said more than half of about 200 new bankers that the wealth manager plans to hire this year will be based in Asia. Last year, Asia contributed about USD549m of the group’s operating income.

A former Indonesian desk head at UBS who left the Swiss bank in May this year has resurfaced as team head of Southeast Asia at RBC Wealth Management, this publication has learned.

Ong joined the Canadian firm on 22 August. He is based out of Singapore, a spokesperson for the firm confirmed to WealthBriefingAsia after it heard of the move from sources.
