Julius Baer has added a former Citi banker to its growing team of relationship managers.
Florian Garivier has joined the Swiss pure-play as an executive director, focusing on institutional clients. Garivier will report to recently appointed Serge Janowski, managing director and head of special markets, Julius Baer. Janowski is the former CEO of Hong Kong at Crédit Agricole Private Banking.
When contacted, a bank spokesperson declined to comment on the hire.
Prior to this role, Garivier was at Citi Bank in the investment solutions department for five years, based in Hong Kong. Garivier has also worked in the equity derivatives sales division at BNP Paribas.
The hire comes after Janowski hired three relationship managers to build out his team in Hong Kong. Johann Santer, Jinho Lee and Xavier Bosco joined at the start of this year.
Julius Baer’s assets under management in Asia rose to US$78.7 billion and its relationship manager headcount was 260 at the end of 2014, according to this publication’s AUM and RM League Tables.
