Published by AsianPrivateBanker – 8th May 2015

More than two years after being appointed as the Asia head of Bank of Montreal’s (BMO) private banking arm, the 20 year veteran in legal and wealth management services steps down from the role.

Robert Cormie exits BMO Private Bank two years after joining the Canadian rival, Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) where he was its managing director and Asia Pacific head.

When contacted, a spokesperson confirmed that today will be Cormie’s last day with the bank.

Prior to his financial services career, Cormie was a solicitor in Toronto before coming to Asia where he was stationed for nearly two decades.
