Standard Chartered further strengthened its Private Banking and Wealth Management teams across Greater China and North Asia, with the announcement of several new appointments.
Teddy Kwong, joins Standard Chartered (SCB) as Managing Director, Private Banking, SCB. Kwong was previously Market Head of Hong Kong with HSBC Global Private Banking.
He spent 28 years with the HSBC Group in various senior frontline and strategic management roles covering Private and Commercial Banking, including as CEO of HSBC Macau from 2009 to 2013.
In his new role Kwong will report into Vivian Chan, Regional Head, Private Banking, Greater China & North Asia, the bank said in a statement released today.
Also joining SCB is Peter Lam, Managing Director and Deputy Market Head, Private Banking. Like Kwong most recently Lam worked with HSBC Private Bank, where has was a Managing Director.
Lam has over 29 years of experience with a number of global banks, including UBS, Credit Lyonnais and Citibank. In his new position Lam will report to Teddy Kwong.
Also reporting to Teddy Kwong is another ex-HSBC banker. James Ling, who has been appointed as Executive Director and Team Leader, Private Banking, SCB.
In his previous role with HSBC Private Bank, Ling held the position of Senior Director. He also possesses 28 years of wealth management experience and has held senior positions in Dah Sing Bank, DBS Bank and Citibank.
All of the new hires are based in Hong Kong.
