Roland Schubert has been elected as the new chief executive officer (CEO) of LGT Bank by the board of directors.
Norbert Biedermann, CEO of the firm since 2011, will retire at the end of June 2017, according to a statement by the bank.
He has been at LGT for over 40 years. In 2001, he was appointed a member of the Executive Board and in October 2008, became deputy CEO.
Schubert, who has a private banking career that spans over 25 years, joined LGT in 2002, where he built up the private banking business in Germany and its seven German locations.
In 2011, during the course of the sale of LGT Bank Deutschland, Schubert moved to Bethmann Bank, but later returned to LGT Bank in 2013.
As CEO, he will continue to be responsible for the direct clients business.
