A 30-year veteran veteran bond expert at the Swiss bank has taken on a key fixed income role in asset management, finews.asia has learned.
Charlotte Baenninger will run Zurich-based UBS’ fixed income business in asset management, effective immediately, overall investment head Suni Harford wrote in a memorandum to staff seen by finews.com.
Baenninger, who began as a trainee in 1987 and was instrumental in building the Swiss bank’s domestic bond-trading platform, had held the role temporarily since the beginning of this year. Since then, she has been successful in bolstering UBS’ position in both active and passive fixed income, Harford said in the memo.
She has been responsible for fixed income in Switzerland as well as for central Europe, the Middle East, and Africa for the past 16 years.
