Genevan private bank Lombard Odier rewarded its top banker in Asia.
With immediate effect Vincent Magnenat becomes a limited partner at Lombard Odier in addition to retaining his existing position as chief executive officer for Asia and Asia head of private banking.
Asia is a key strategic growth market for the Swiss bank and Magnenat will continue to be based in the region, according to an internal announcement by the bank.
Magnenat joined Lombard Odier in 2014 as CEO of the Singapore office and Asia head of private banking. Prior to joining the Geneva based firm, he spent over eight years at Société Générale as regional head of sales and marketing for private banking in Asia. He began his career in international private banking at Credit Suisse in Switzerland and relocated to Singapore in 2002.
Eyeing Asian Growth
Under his tenure the boutique private bank has forged a number of strategic partnerships with financial institutions in Thailand and the Philippines, providing clients of those organisations onshore access to Lombard Odier’s global wealth management platform. The bank also boosted relationship manager numbers in the teams based at its three offices in Hong Kong, Singapore and Tokyo.
Lombard Odier manages a third of its client assets of 242 billion Swiss francs for customers based in Switzerland, a third for Europe-based customers and a third for wealthy people in new markets, which include Asia. And Asia is making up a substantial amount of that third, Chairman Patrick Odier said at a recent meeting in Singapore.
