Swiss private bank Union Bancaire Privee continues to build its Asian business. It added a team from a wealth rival in Singapore.
Geneva-based Union Bancaire Privee (UBP), is poaching six bankers off its rival in Singapore. Sharmaine Han and team have left Standard Chartered Private Bank to join UBP. Han was named market head and joins UBP along with three private bankers and two associates.
Asian Ambitions
Han and the team will report to Ranjit Khanna, UBP’s CEO for Singapore and head of South Asia. A UBP spokeswoman confirmed the move to finews.asia.
Since acquiring the Coutts units in Hong Kong and Singapore, UBP promised to maintain the momentum and build out the Asian business. CEO, Guy de Picciotto recently said he aims to increase the share of assets managed in the region to a third of the firm’s total within five years.
