Schroders plc has appointed Michelle Han as head of marketing for Asia Pacific.
“Ms. Han will help drive Schroders’ efforts in branding, public relations, marketing planning, marketing communications, advertising and sponsorship, events, and development of Schroders’ digital platform,” the multinational asset management company says in a June 7 statement.
Her appointment was effective May 2.
A Schroders spokesperson says Ms. Han took over the role from London-based Peter Beckett, who oversaw the Asia marketing function as head of marketing – content, operations and Asia Pacific.
“Mr. Beckett will continue to focus on his global responsibilities including focusing on the group’s content functions, as well as operations and business development services,” the spokesperson tells Asia Asset Management.
Ms. Han, who is based in Singapore, reports regionally to Lieven Debruyne, chief executive officer of Schroders Asia Pacific, and functionally to James Cardew, the global head of marketing.
Prior to joining Schroders, Ms. Han had a four-year stint at US-based asset manager Capital Group, where she was head of marketing of the company’s Asia Pacific operations. Before that, she spent eight years in various marketing roles at technology company Hewlett Packard Enterprise.
According to Mr. Debruyne, Ms. Han’s experience “complements our core strategy of a digital-first approach to client engagements and in bringing them innovative experiences”.
“We believe clients will stand to benefit from the enhanced communications that Michelle and the team will provide,” Mr. Debruyne says in the statement.
London-headquartered Schroders had £447 billion (US$599.85 billion) of assets under management as at end-2017.
