Fidelity International has appointed Rajeev Mittal, former Asia Pacific chief executive officer (CEO) of PineBridge Investments, as managing director for Asia Pacific ex-Japan, effective January 16, 2019.
Mr. Mittal succeeds Mark Talbot, who left Fidelity International earlier this year. He will oversee the company’s distribution business in Asia ex-Japan and Australia, Fidelity International says in a statement on October 26.
Mr. Mittal was PineBridge Investments’ Asia Pacific CEO from 2011 to 2018, and was the CEO for Europe prior to that.
“Over the last decade as a CEO, Rajeev has demonstrated his ability to successfully conceive and execute multi-channel growth strategies in Asia and in Europe based upon a deep and clear understanding of client needs,” according Fidelity International.
The company also named Derek Young, who is currently vice chairman of Fidelity Institutional Asset Management, as president for Japan, effective January 7, 2019.
Boston-based Fidelity International had approximately US$416.5 billion of total assets under management globally at the end of June 2018.
