AMP Capital today announced Debbie Alliston has been appointed as Chief Investment Officer for its Multi-Asset Group, effective immediately.
With more than A$62 billion in multi-asset funds under management as at 31 December 2018, the MultiAsset Group (MAG) delivers tailored investment solutions for clients including asset allocation, manager selection and portfolio construction. MAG’s 27 investment professionals are responsible for the investment management of AMP Capital’s Multi-Asset, Diversified and Multi-Manager funds. These funds are constructed by blending investments across multiple asset classes and investment managers.
AMP Capital Global Head of Public Markets Simon Warner said that this was a key appointment for the business.

Debbie is ideally placed to take on this role, and deliver superior outcomes for our clients, having been the Head of Multi-Asset Portfolio Management for seven years. Her appointment is another great example of promoting quality talent from within our organisation,” Mr Warner said.
Reporting to Simon Warner, Ms Alliston will have responsibility for the Portfolio Management, Dynamic Markets, Market Solutions and Tailored Investment Solutions teams. Ms Alliston will also continue to have responsibility for portfolio management of the Future Directions and AMP Lifecycle funds.

Debbie Alliston is currently AMP Capital’s Head of Multi-Asset Portfolio Management. In her role she is responsible for managing a team of portfolio managers who are responsible for a range of diversified funds including LifeCycle, institutional, and goals-based funds. In addition, Debbie is the Portfolio manager for AMP’s default Corporate Super offerings. Prior to joining AMP Capital, Debbie was with Apostle Asset Management as an Investment Director (since 2007), where she was responsible for the management of the ongoing affiliate program including investment due diligence and manager selection and review. From 1991 to 2007 she was with BT Financial Group (formerly Rothschild Asset Management) in a range of roles, including Head of Investments where she was charged with the management of the BT investment team. Debbie held a range of other positions with BT over the 16-year period, including Chief Operating Officer, Investment Management and Director Head of Portfolio Management, and for the last five years of her tenure had portfolio management responsibility for BT’s complete range of diversified products.
