Hong Kong-based Raffles Family Office has appointed Derek Loh as a senior portfolio manager for equities, according to a Linkedin post from the firm.
FSA sought more information from Raffles FO, but it did not respond in time for publication.
Loh, who has around 12 years of investment management experience, was previously at fund management firm ACA Capital for three years, according to his Linkedin profile. Before that, he was at Atlantis Investment Management.
Loh’s appointment comes after the hire of Cameron Harvey as managing director last month. Earlier this year, the firm also hired key people for investment management roles, including Lawrence Chan as senior portfolio manager for fixed income and Desmond Cheung as senior portfolio manager for equities.
Separately, the firm also announced that it has received a capital market services licence from the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
The firm opened a Singapore office last year and plans to open another one in Taiwan. The Singapore office has around five people, including two managing partners, two relationship managers and one assistant relationship manager, according to Ray Tam, Hong Kong-based managing partner and co-founder.
