Asia’s largest wealth manager UBS, has recruited a seasoned wealth manager into its Singapore business.
Bert Stegink joins the Swiss firm from ABN Amro Private Bank. The Dutch bank sold its wealth units in Hong Kong, Singapore and Dubai to Liechtenstein’s LGT in December 2016. Stegink joined UBS earlier this month.
Stegink first moved to Asia in 2008 with ABN Amro where he headed a wealth management team with 12 bankers of various nationalities, with a specific focus on the expatriate client segment throughout Asia.
RBS took over the ABN mass affluent wealth business in Asia before selling it on to ANZ. Stegink stayed in Singapore with the Melbourne based bank before returning to work at his old bank ABN Amro, where once again he led a team of private bankers with a focus on expatriate clients.
A spokesperson for UBS Wealth Management in Singapore confirmed the new hire to finews.asia.
