BNP Paribas Wealth Management has named Pierre Vrielinck as its new chief executive officer for Asia Pacific.
Mignonne Cheng, currently chairman and chief executive officer, will continue as chairman.
Under her lead for over six years, the business in the region has more than doubled in AUM.
Vrielinck has over 20 years’ experience in banking with the last six years spent in wealth management, notably as chief executive officer for BNP Paribas Wealth Management in Switzerland and Emerging Markets.
Said Vincent Lecomte, co-CEO of BNP Paribas Wealth Management: “The Asia Pacific market is strategic for BNP Paribas Wealth Management…. Our aim now is to move from being one of the top 10 players in the region to the top 5.”
