HSBC Private Bank hired from a global rival to appoint a new regional head of credit advisory.
Based in Hong Kong Desiree Lam takes on the role as regional head of Credit Advisory, Global Private Banking, Asia-Pacific, the bank said in a news release.
Lam brings more than 15 years of experience to the role and joins HSBC Private Banking from UBS where she was head of Structured Credit, North Asia. Prior to UBS, she held multiple senior roles at Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank, Moody’s and Standard Chartered.
In her new position Lam will be responsible for managing the Regional Asia Credit Advisory teams, and overseeing the private bank’s overall credit propositions and lending products.
“Desiree has extensive experience in credit structuring and solutioning for high net worth and ultra-high net worth clients, and we are pleased to have her lead our credit advisory team,” said Siew Meng Tan, regional head of Global Private Banking, Asia-Pacific.
