HSBC Private Banking has hired a new regional head of alternatives from a Singaporean rival, Asian Private Banker can reveal.
Edward Moon has joined HSBC Private Banking from Bank of Singapore, where he will run the private bank’s alts business in Asia out of Hong Kong.
Moon has some 23 years of experience in the financial industry and has held various roles within hedge fund management and selection
He spent two years with Bank of Singapore, joining the private bank in 2016 as a senior product specialist where he focused on hedge funds and liquid alternatives.
A spokesperson from HSBC confirmed the new hire.
Other recent hires by HSBC Private Banking include Sundar Ramani, as market head of international and non-resident Indian, and How Seng Tan as team head, Indonesia desk.
