T Rowe Price has made leadership transitions for Asia-Pacific distribution, effective January next year. Elsie Chan, currently head of global investment management services (GIMS) for Asia ex-Japan intermediaries, has been appointed in the newly created role of head of GIMS Asia ex-Japan, which includes the firm’s institutional and intermediary businesses in the region. Nick Trueman, currently head of Asia ex-Japan for institutional business, has been appointed as head of GIMS for Asia-Pacific. Trueman will replace Scott Keller, who has been named as the new head of GIMS for Europe, Middle East and Africa…
Chris Durack, Schroders Hong Kong’s CEO, will be returning to Australia to assume the role of Australia CEO, according to the firm’s website. He will replace Greg Cooper, who will be stepping down in the role at the end of the year. The firm has not named any replacement for Durack’s Hong Kong CEO role yet…
Fintech firm AG Delta, which provides digital advisory, compliance and execution solutions to wealth managers, has appointed David Roy as Hong Kong-based managing director for product management. Roy will develop the firm’s digital wealth platform. Before AG Delta, Roy was previously an executive director for global wealth management technology at JP Morgan Private Bank. He has worked in both private banking and asset management technology in Asia, Europe and in the US across disciplines such as trading, compliance, data management and project delivery…
Columbia Threadneedle Investments has appointed Glen Giddings as Sydney-based head of the firm’s institutional business for Australia and New Zealand. Reporting to Jon Allen, head of distribution for Asia-Pacific, Giddings will be responsible for developing the firm’s institutional business in Australia and New Zealand with a focus on serving existing clients. Fidelity International has made a strategic partnership with China Asset Management, in a move to participate in China’s pension market. The strategic partnership will see Fidelity act as a research consultant providing advice on research work of China AMC’s target date funds. China just approved the first batch of 14 pension target funds, which marks a new step in the development of the country’s third-pillar pensions market. The partnership with China AMC follows the earlier announcement that Fidelity will partner with Ant Fortune on investor education…
Aviva Investors has launched a fixed income fund to Singapore’s accredited investors. The fund, which is already available to institutional and professional investors in Hong Kong, aims to achieve 3% per annum gross retrun over cash, represented by the European Central Bank base rate, over rolling three-year periods. Schroders has launched a target return multi-asset fund in Singapore. The Schroder ISF Global Target Return Fund, aims to deliver stable returns with monthly payout by investing flexibly in a diversified portfolio across asset classes globally. The fund is available to Singapore investors through Citibank, with more distributors expected to be on board over the next few months. The Luxembourg-domiciled fund was first launched in December 2016 and has $109.9m in assets as of the end of June…
