Willis Towers Watson, an investment advisory firm, has appointed Terence Montgomery to a newly created position as lead of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) transaction solutions in Asia Pacific as the company seeks to expand its financial and executive risk business in the region.
Based in Hong Kong, Mr. Montgomery will partner and support Asia Pacific companies by providing solutions, including warranty and indemnity, tax and contingent risk insurance, that allow the transferring of liability to facilitate M&A transactions, Willis Towers Watson says in a statement on August 13.
Mr. Montgomery was previously head of Asia at Australia-based M&A insurance broker Risk Capital Advisors.
According to Willis Towers Watson, the appointment is part of its “continued and significant investment” in M&A within its financial and executive risk (FINEX) business, which helps clients protect key assets and reduce exposure to risk.
Mr. Montgomery reports to Namit Mahajan, the company’s head of FINEX Asia and Alex Keville, the FINEX M&A practice leader.
“Terence has deep understanding and experience of the Asia Pacific M&A landscape. His addition to our business will further cement our position as a global market leader in the M&A advisory space,” Mr. Mahajan says in the statement.
London-headquartered Willis Towers Watson has more than US$2.3 trillion of assets under advisory currently, and over $120 billion of assets under management globally.
