Vanguard has announced the appointment of Kim Petersen to its Australian executive team as chief information officer, Asia Pacific.
Petersen has 20 years’ information technology experience, leading teams in charge of end-user computing, service management, data centre and cloud, networks, and cybersecurity operations, the firm said.
She joins Vanguard from Jetstar where she most recently served as senior manager of group technology.
Commenting on her appointment, Vanguard managing director, Frank Kolimago, said: “Kim’s technical and leadership expertise will be a valuable addition to Vanguard Australia as we continue to invest in the technology and infrastructure required to give our investors the best chance of investment success, while also focusing on delivering a superior client experience.”
He added: “Kim’s role leading the IT division will support opportunities for Vanguard in this region and beyond, with the Australia-based team functioning as one of three critical IT hubs for Vanguard globally.”
Petersen replaces Charles Thompson, who has moved into a new role leading international systems, based in Vanguard’s U.S. headquarters.
