One of the bankers from UBS’ erstwhile mom-resident Indian (NRI) team based in Hong Kong has signed on with another bank after the Swiss bank reorganised that part of its business in November of last year.
Shruti Garg, formerly a director with UBS, has joined DBS as senior vice president in the NRI team, three months after her exit from the bank. At UBS, Garg was part of Jaya Mahajan’s team. Mahajan continues to be with UBS. When contacted a spokesman from DBS confirmed the move.
At DBS, Garg will be based in Hong Kong and report into Tjandra Januar Jun, managing director and North Asia head.
According to Asian Private Banker estimates DBS has US$54.6 billion in assets under management.
