International Private Bank Names Industry Luminary To Board

One of the most prominent figures in Swiss private banking has joined the firm’s board.

Falcon Private Bank, based in Switzerland with offices worldwide including Singapore and Abu Dhabi, has elected one of the Alpine state’s most high-profile figures, Walter Berchtold, as a member of its board of directors. The appointment was effective as of 10 March this year.

Ex-Standard Chartered banker is new ANZ Private Bank Hong Kong head

A former Standard Chartered banker has joined ANZ to cover the Hong Kong market, bringing with him 15 years of private banking experience.

Ho Yan Kwan, is ANZ Private Bank’s new market head, Hong Kong. He succeeds Ellen Tang, who will continue to contribute to the Hong Kong team as a senior private banker. Kwan will report directly to ANZ Private Bank’s head of North Asia region, Arjan De Boer.

Clement Lai joins DBS Private Bank as what is believed to be a vice president and fund specialist.

DBS hires ex-HKMA portfolio manager

Singaporean lender DBS Private Bank has appointed an investment counselor who previously worked as portfolio manager for the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA).

Harvey Lim is now an investment counsellor at DBS Private Bank, based in Hong Kong. He reports to Rocky Cheung, head of investment advisory, wealth management, Hong Kong.

JP Morgan Private Bank replaces key fund selector

One of the key decision-makers in the Asia fund selection team at JP Morgan Private Bank, Adam Tejpaul, is set to relocate back to the US, AsianInvestor can confirm.

Tejpaul, who has worked at the bank in various capacities and geographies for 17 years, will become JP Morgan’s deputy chief risk officer based in New York.

UBS Makes Senior Appointments In Asia

The wealth arm of UBS has made a pair of senior appointments in Asia.

The world’s largest wealth management firm said that Karen Chen has officially taken up the role of president for UBS (China) following approval by the China Banking Regulatory Commission. She will be nominated as executive director on the board of directors, in addition to her role as head of wealth management for UBS (China), the firm said in a statement. Chen has worked at UBS since July 2014.

PM Capital CEO leaves, replacement announced

PM Capital chief executive Chris Donohoe was moved to an institutional sales role at the end of 2014 and stepped down shortly after.

Donohoe, who was also a shareholder in the firm and had worked there for 14 years, stepped down at the end of 2014, a PM Capital spokesperson confirmed.
