UBS Wealth Management’s Managing Director at Asia Pacific CEO office leaves to set up business venture

After more than a decade with Swiss private bank, a managing director at Asia Pacific CEO office steps down to start his own business.

Johan Riddergard leaves UBS Wealth Management where he held various posts in the business development department of the bank for almost 12 years, based in Singapore. Riddergard has left to set up a business venture, Riddergard & Partners, working with private banks in Singapore.

One of the bankers from UBS’ erstwhile mom-resident Indian (NRI) team based in Hong Kong has signed on with another bank after the Swiss bank reorganised that part of its business in November of last year.

Shruti Garg, formerly a director with UBS, has joined DBS as senior vice president in the NRI team, three months after her exit from the bank. At UBS, Garg was part of Jaya Mahajan’s team. Mahajan continues to be with UBS. When contacted a spokesman from DBS confirmed the move.

Nicol Poon joins HSBC as an investment specialist, believed to be in a similar capacity as when he was with
