Asset Manager Names Chief Operating Officer

Asset manager PineBridge Investments has created a new role of Chief Operating Officer for Asia. This announcement follows a series of appointments as the firm continues to grow its team and operations in Asia.

Taking up the position and based in Hong Kong will be Jennifer Theunissen. She will report to Global Chief Operating Officer, Julian Sluyters and Asia Chief Executive Officer, Rajeev Mittal,the firm said in a statement to finews.asia.

Point 72 Asset Management, the family office managing the assets of its founder, Steven A. Cohen, and eligible employees, has recently doubled its capacity in Singapore.

Point 72 Asset Management moved into a new 8,880 square foot space that can seat up to 60 employees, doubling the capacity of the Firm’s previous Singapore office.

Global asset manager Schroders has appointed a Head of Fixed Income & Foreign Exchange Trading for Asia.

In this newly created role Sok Mun Wong, will be based in Singapore, Schroders’ central trading hub in Asia.

Fullerton Fund Management Co., the Singapore-based asset manager backed by Temasek Holdings Pte, said Chief Executive Officer Manraj Sekhon has left the firm.

The decision was announced by the Fullerton board on Nov. 8 and is with immediate effect, the investment firm said Wednesday in an e-mailed response to Bloomberg queries. Sekhon, who also served as chief investment officer, had been in his role for more than five years. Fullerton Chairman Ho Tian Yee will assume Sekhon’s responsibilities in the interim, according to the statement.
