Global private equity (PE) firm CVC Capital Partners is looking at setting up a presence in India and is in the process of hiring senior executives for the same, said two people aware of the development.
“They are looking to establish their presence in India and are in the process of hiring a senior person to head the India operations. They are in discussions with a select set of private equity professionals for the same. The hiring is expected to close soon,” said one of the two people cited above, requesting anonymity as the talks are private.

Aberdeen Asset Management has recruited John Campbell as global head of strategic clients and Jeff Klepacki as head of distribution for the Americas, while Antony John and Richard Pursglove join on a consultancy basis.
Campbell was previously business head of global services, UK, Middle East and Africa at State Street. Klepacki was previously a director at Capital Group, while John formerly served as chief executive of BNP Paribas Investment Partners/FundQuest. Pursglove has served as head of retail at Artemis Investment Management among other senior distribution roles, according to his LinkedIn profile.

GIC group president Lim Siong Guan, 69, will be handing over the reins of leading the Singapore sovereign wealth fund to Lim Chow Kiat, 45, who will be its chief executive officer come Jan 1, 2017.GIC announced on Monday evening a slew of changes to its top brass. They will come into effect just eight months after a previous shuffle.The younger Mr Lim is currently the group’s chief investment officer and deputy group president. He was appointed to the latter designation in April.The elder Mr Lim will retire, and be appointed adviser to the GIC Group executive committee on Jan 1, 2017, wrote the release. Four other appointments have also been made that will take effect on the same day.

BNY Mellon Investment Management has appointed Chris Tse as head of intermediary distribution, Hong Kong.Previously, Tse spent five years as director and regional head of business development within the firm’s Asia division, where he was responsible for leading a team and driving growth across the region. Prior to that, he held key positions at Prudential, Credit Agricole Asset Management, Franklin Templeton Investments and Manulife International.

China’s state-owned investment vehicle, China Investment Corporation (CIC), has appointed Liu Jun, former deputy general manager of China Everbright Group, as executive vice president, effective November 17.
This is the third senior executive appointment made by CIC this year following the appointments of Qi Bin, former director of the international cooperation department of the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) as vice general manager, and Tu Guangshao, former vice mayor of Shanghai, as its other executive vice president in August this year.
