The Role

The main focus of this role is the structuring, execution and lifecycle management of Strategic Solution transactions linked to the significant assets and complex portfolios of UHNW clients. Strategic solution trades are executed via referrals from the banks large client base of UHNW & institutional-side businesses. The role also encompasses the referral of very large, active-investor UHNW clients to trade directly with Global Markets. This role is a Senior Regional leadership role, leading teams in HK and Singapore covering all APAC clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for leading the execution and marketing of vanilla OTC options, light exotic and structured products in the Equities, Hybrids & Commodities space.
  • Overseeing the sales, marketing and syndication of Structured Products and OTC derivatives (light and exotic).
  • At the forefront of ideation, generation, product design, construction, implementation and support and will require extensive involvement in the pre and post trade processes.
  • Will price and market products, oversee documentation manufacture, trade execution / booking and aftersales.
  • Interact with stakeholder Origination groups: Bankers / IC’s, some end clients and the control functions.
  • Lead the integrated asset-class team, pricing and executing orders for equity, commodity and hybrid products (Structured Product & OTC).
  • Source and deliver investment ideas and manage the syndication effort for primary structured product issuance to the banks clients, directly and indirectly
  • Actively enable and develop the syndication effort around high conviction ideas. This will involve idea generation, product pricing / implementation, documentation production (drafting, approval coordination)
  • Develop the sales / marketing and after-sales process
  • Oversee and manage the delivery and closure of client investment proposals and account pitches as part of the overall team sales strategy
  • Ensure conformity with global company standards of client service, regulatory, compliance, and operating model
  • Be pivotal to the development and increased connectivity and engagement between Markets and Private Bank
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding the bank. Including but not limited to its clients and assets.
  • Ensure compliance is in line with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices. Escalate, manage, report control issues, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience
  • Current Managing Director Level (MUST)
  • Extensive/proven sales and trading experience in financial services and the Structured Products sector, including derivatives and light exotic products
  • Extensive CM/Structured Products knowledge and experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to deal with both internal staff and external clients
  • Self-motivated, leadership strength
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong IT skills essential
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships across functions
  • An additional language to English is beneficial, but not essential.
  • Regulated role with applicable/mandatory licenses and/or qualifications.

Education:

Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred
