Indonesians declare S$12.2b of Singapore assets under tax amnesty

SINGAPORE: Indonesians have declared 117.3 trillion rupiah (S$12.2 billion) of assets held in Singapore, Indonesia’s Finance Ministry said on Friday (Sep 16) according to Bloomberg.

However only a small proportion – 14.1 trillion rupiah, or about 12 per cent – has been repatriated.

Provider of financial data management solutions, eWise has announced a partnership with Singapore’s WeInvest. Their product streamlines the investment process, generally available only to high net-worth individuals.

WeInvest is launching its new Personal Wealth Management tool for investors called TrackWealth. Trackwealth consolidates their financial data across all banks and brokers, and helps them assess their investment health covering portfolio performance, Income & Expense, cashflows and allocations across regions, asset classes and currencies.

PIMCO will hire over 20 new professionals in sales and marketing, operations, legal and compliance roles to facilitate its Asia Pacific expansion.

Speaking to Financial Standard, PIMCO head of Asia Pacific Eric J. Mogelof said the region “continues to be an important growth engine for PIMCO. We manage assets for both institutional and wealth management clients, with more institutional assets at present but a rapidly growing individual investor base.”
