Ex-Coutts head off to Barclays

Soon after being reported as leaving Coutts, the head of greater China has resurfaced at Barclays.

AsianPrivateBanker reported earlier this week that Andrew Sum was leaving Coutts. He has since resurfaced at Barclays. Sum is believed to be taking up a similar role to the one he held at Coutts.

BMO Private Bank adds Hong Kong market relationship manager

Canadian wealth manager, BMO Private Bank, has added one more to its headcount with the addition of another Hong Kong relationship manager.

Petty Lee joins the Toronto headquartered lender as an executive director. Previously, Lee was a senior relationship manager and team leader at ABN Amro Private Banking.

Chinese Wealth Management House Recruits Ex-McKinsey Luminary As Group President

The Chinese wealth management house has appointed a former McKinsey man as its group president.

Noah Holdings, the Chinese wealth and asset management firm, has appointed Kenny Lam to be group president. He was previously a global senior partner at McKinsey and he takes up his new role immediately.

Delaware Investments recruits UBS’ Shawn Lytle to be new president

Shawn Lytle was named president of Delaware Investments, effective June 1, spokesman Matthew Hickerson said.

Mr. Lytle will replace Patrick Coyne, who is retiring. Mr. Coyne will remain at Delaware Investments through Sept. 30 to assist in the leadership transition.

Matthews Asia hires Derek Chow as head of U.S. intermediary distribution

Privately held Matthews International Capital Management LLC hired Derek Chow as head of U.S. intermediary distribution.

Based in San Francisco, Chow will be responsible for leading the firm’s U.S. intermediary business, including family office, broker dealer and private bank clients.

Pictet loses head of Asian independent wealth business

Sylvain Gysler has left Pictet and his role as head of department for the firm’s independent asset managers (IAM) business in Asia.

Caroline Schaedler, previously a relationship manager in Gysler’s team, has taken over the position.

Hong Kong regulator bans former Standard Chartered RM for life

Hong Kong’s Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) has banned Wong Chun Yin, a former relationship manager of Standard Chartered Bank, from re-entering the industry for life.

The watchdog found that, between October 2011 and May 2012, Wong effected fund transactions in clients’ accounts without their authorisation to meet his sales targets and tried to conceal his misconduct by tampering with one client’s contact information.
