Religare names Gaurav Arora as chief investment officer of wealth management unit

Religare Private Wealth, the advisory led wealth management platform of diversified financial services firm Religare Enterprises Limited (REL), has appointed Gaurav Arora as chief investment officer, according to a press release.

He will be based in Mumbai and will report to Shachindra Nath, the current group CFO of Religare Enterprises.

BSI’s Asia head of structured products leaves to set up EAM

After more than five years with the Swiss bank, BSI’s head of structured products in Asia leaves to join an external asset manager (EAM) – a growing industry that is estimated to reach up to US$100 billion in assets by 2017.

Vinit Sarangdhar has resigned from BSI Bank where he was head of structured products, based in Singapore. He is now CEO of Alpha Vectors, an EAM business, also based in Singapore.

Manulife Creates Head Of Newly Combined Asset, Wealth Division In Asia

Manulife is putting its wealth and asset management arms in Asia under the same roof, the firm said, as it named the man to head up the combined groups.

Canada-headquartered Manulife has put its Asian wealth and asset management divisions under one roof by appointing senior company executive Michael Dommermuth to head the group.

Invesco hires industry veteran from rival

US fund house Invesco has moved to hire industry veteran Terry Pan from rival JP Morgan Asset Management as CEO for Greater China, Singapore and Korea, AsianInvestor can reveal.

Pan officially started at Invesco on February 2, according to online records lodged with Hong Kong’s Securities and Futures Commission.

RBC Wealth Management Expands In Asia With New Addition

RBC Wealth Management has hired Juan Aronna as head of discretionary investment management.

Aronna joins the Asian investment and products team in Singapore and reports to Stefan Mueller, head of investments and products at RBC Wealth Management Asia. He was previously head of investment management for Singapore and head of the portfolio management hub for Asia-Pacific at UBS.

Pimco’s Baker, Dada Said to Retire as Dhoraisingam Leaves

Pacific Investment Management Co. managing directors Brian Baker and Suhail Dada are retiring and a third has left as the investment firm recovers from the most tumultuous year in its history, according to a person familiar with the matter.

Baker, chief executive officer and director of Pimco Asia and the head of Asia ex-Japan, will retire in May, and Dada, head of the U.S. institutional business development and consultant relations group, will retire in April, according to the person, who asked not to be identified because the moves aren’t public. Ana Dhoraisingam, head of business development at Pimco Asia who leads the Singapore office, left for other opportunities, the person said.

BSI appoints new head of private banking for Asia

Following the news of a recent management reshuffle at the private bank, BSI announces a new head of private banking for Asia.

In a newly-created role, Raj Sriram is BSI Bank’s new head of private banking, Asia, based in Singapore, effective on 2^nd February 2015, in addition to being the bank’s deputy CEO Asia. In his expanded role, he will look at bolstering the bank’s client offering and drive the business in the region. He will report to Hanspeter Brunner, CEO of BSI Asia.
